Bringing the magic of ballet to Lewes and Newhaven
Producer Frances Livesey said: “Theatres may have shut their doors, but here in East Sussex we can still enjoy the magic of ballet in the open air.
“In a new Covid-secure live production, Hans Christian Andersen’s fairytale favourite The Snow Queen is brought to the stage with original choreography and musical score, right on time for Christmas.

“The Snow Queen has served as inspiration for numerous stories over time, notably Disney’s Frozen and C S Lewis’ The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.
“However, the company promises its own unique take on Andersen’s classic, designed to be loved equally by adults and children. The Snow Queen is one of those stories that really is for everyone. We want to share our love for this magical fairy tale with our audiences. You can expect a show that is dynamic and exciting, heart-warming, powerful and ultimately very beautiful.
“When lockdown hit, all the theatres closed. As the time went on, seeing the performing arts industry suffer so badly gave us the drive to go out there and create something that could be performed safely under government regulations. The story is one we’d wanted to bring to stage for a while, and after such a terrible year, it seemed like the perfect show with which to bring some Christmas ballet magic to Sussex.”
