If world number 42 Robertson comes through that match, he will face 55th-ranked Kyren Wilson or 114th-ranked Thai player Thanawat Thirapongpaiboon in round two of the qualifiers on Monday.
The winner of that match will advance to the third and final round of the qualifiers on Tuesday and Wednesday when a place alongside the world’s top 16 players at The Crucible in Sheffield later this month will be up for grabs.
Robertson, 28, has qualified for the sport’s premier event once before back in 2011 when he came up against current world number one Mark Selby.
