Record turnout once again for annual Round Hill Romp
The event, which is part of the West Sussex Fun Run League, saw 579 adult runners take on the six-mile trail course.
Competitors descended on Steyning’s High Street before the 2016 race got under way from near the Clock Tower.

Andy Massingale was the first to complete the course, finishing in a time of 36min 17sec, while Kate Payling was the winner of the women’s race in a time of 39-55.
Steyning Round Hill Romp race director Ollie Beaney was delighted to see another record turnout and said: “This year’s race was fantastic.
“We had a record turnout for a second year running and the weather was incredibly kind to us.

“The Romp course is definitely tough, it’s got a long hill climb to get to South Downs Way, followed by a steep downhill section on the way back into Steyning which requires careful footwork to negotiate.”
As well as the adult race, younger runners were given the chance to compete in the junior one-mile Mini-Romp race with 74 children taking part in that.
After the finish, runners were then able to grab some refreshments.
