Murphy and Marquand end Goodwood season with doubles
Both had two winners at the racecourse’s season finale – the 13th fixture of a Goodwood season in which not one paying racegoer was allowed in.
In fact, by the time Goodwood next stages racing, next spring, it will be just over 18 months since they were able to make any money from a paying crowd.

First he rode Juan De Montalban to a 2-1 success in the Download The tote Placepot App EBF Novice Stakes, then he was on board Natural History for a 100/30 win in the Join tote.co.uk With £10 Risk Free Handicap.
Marquand was also in form, claiming the Download The tote Placepot App Irish EBF Nursery Handicap for trainer William Haggas on 13/2 chance Conservatoire, and triumphing in the final race of the Goodwood season, the tote.co.uk Handicap on Tony Carroll’s Latent Heat (15/2).
Marquand might have had a bit of grovelling to do after Conservatoire’s win – for he beat into second place his partner Hollie Doyle, who was celebrating her birthday.
