Reader’s family photos through the generations
Carol, of Brooklyn Avenue, Worthing, said: “The first photo was taken in about 1875 and shows The Cobden Inn.
“My great-grandmother, Alice Woodwards, née Thompson, aged about two, is standing on the steps with her parents, Alfred and Henrietta Thompson. Alfred ran the pub until the early 1890s.”

Carol’s father, Matthew Sullivan, is the boy second from left on the second row down.
Carol said: “I don’t know who the other children are but, hopefully, someone will.”
The final photo was taken at a baby show, at Salvington Windmill, in 1938.

Hide AdCarol said: “My grandmother, Jessie Woodwards, is in the front row, third from the left. She is holding my mother, Shirley.
“My mother was a twin and, together with her sister and another set of twins, they won the show, and my grandmother was given the prize of 100cwt of coal.”
