Burgess is looking for a return to form in two North American competitions with the Montreal Skratch Open in Canada this week and the Nevada Desert Open in a fortnight's time.
A dip in form by the Hastings player has seen him drop out of the top ten world rankings to 26th.
He added: "Only the top 24 play on TV so it's a crucial time for me if I want to be there next season."
