King makes final at top event
The Nottingham University student from Hastings was runner-up in the under-21 women’s singles.
Although she lost to top seed and England no.3 senior Tin Tin Ho (Middlesex) in her group, King had straight games wins over Malin Nilsson (Sweden) and Natasha Walsh (Hertfordshire) to qualify for the knockout.

Hide AdKing comfortably saw off Welsh international Megan Phillips and then second seed Charlotte Carey, also of Wales, 11-8, 6-11, 10-12, 11-6, 11-1.
Another straight games win in the semi-finals over England junior international Lois Peake (Sussex) set up a final against Ho which King lost 8-11, 5-11, 6-11.
King didn’t qualify for the open women’s singles knockout, but was within an ace of pulling off a shock win over the defensive eighth seed Alice Abbat (France).
Also in her group, she lost to England no.4 senior Hannah Hicks (Hampshire), but beat Weald TTC colleague Daniella Gray, both in straight games.
