Hampshire and Sussex youngsters take honours at Chichester tennis tournament
This grade-five competition was held in the club’s dome facility and played using a round robin format, leading to an elimination draw format. Each match was played first to ten points with sudden death at 9-9.
The winner, who received a gold medal and who won all of his matches was a Hampshire player. Second and third places went to Sussex youngsters.

Hide AdTournament referee Peter Cook said: “The tournament was played in a really friendly atmosphere today with a tremendous level of sportsmanship.
“The weather was also extremely cold, so we were glad to be playing in the dome. There was a really high standard of play and most of the matches were extremely close and could have gone either way.”
