No less than five football and three rugby teams are currently in the County cup semi-finals. The netball teams are also progressing in the netball leagues.
Basketball is also leading the way as the teams conclude their most successful season in over a decade. The Year 9 girls were Sussex runners up after losing to a very strong St Paul’s side.

Nevertheless Warden Park has the momentum to be crowned U13 Cup Champions this year particularly after their recent epic win in the National Cup against an extremely well drilled Bristol Met Academy team.
Despite being 14 points down at half time the Warden Park team demonstrated a “never say die” attitude during the second half to claw back point after point, loudly cheered on by their bench in opposition to the 200 strong home crowd.
Finding better cohesion and with quick hands and good movement, Warden Park were able to draw level and then ahead for the first time with only 11 seconds remaining.

Warden Park are now into the last 16 in the country and once again face Angmering in a double header to win the County Cup and progress to the last 8 in the country.
The team is extremely lucky to have the support of Andy Wellman and Nick McAdams, both coaches with Hayward’s Heath Eagles.
This, combined with support from the Mid Sussex active satellite funding scheme, has allowed the school sports club link to thrive.
