Unexpected win for Three Bridges at Folkestone
Bridges, still smarting for the criticism they’d received following their defeat at Carshalton a week earlier, made a number of changes both in personnel and formation, and they showed their intentions early with close calls from both Abu Touray and Williams Peauroux.
Kieron Thorp made a brilliant save from Ian Draycott as Invicta responded, but a good quick move ended with Sam MacVicar, who was up front this time, firing just over the bar.

MacVicar’s early low cross as the second half began eluded both Touray and Peauroux, but after 54 minutes came a quality goal as JOHN LANSDALE picked up a clearance just outside his own goal area and ran directly through the middle of the pitch before unleashing a blistering thirty yard shot that left Roberts groping at thin air.
Thorp made a good save from Liam Friend, and a positive Folkestone move ended with Nat Blanks somehow hitting the underside of the bar from two yards! The equaliser was somehow inevitable as RONNIE DOLAN netted from close range as he met a low cross at the far post.
It looked like being another bad day for Bridges two minutes later when Leach earned a second yellow card, but four minutes after that a dreadful miskick by Roberts left GARROD with a clear run at an empty goal for what proved to be the winner.
