Third successive win leaves Tucker eyeing the top five
Ash Harper’s goal on the half-hour mark gave Wick their third consecutive victory and they demonstrated their resolute character by seeing out the match with nine men, following Joss Parsons’ red card and Steve Menzies’ withdrawal through injury.
Tucker said: “It was a great all-round performance, so credit to the lads.

“There are teams around us that have games in hand but I’d much rather have the points on the board and we’re looking towards the top five now.”
The hosts, who moved up to sixth with the win, started relatively slowly before they started to take control of proceedings. They should have gone ahead early on but Nathan Parke blazed over from close range after Harper unselfishly squared the ball across goal, following a great team move.
Wick were not made to rue that miss as Harper edged his side in front when he finished well.

As the match neared its conclusion, Steve Menzies appeared to have been knocked unconscious in a 50-50 challenge before returning to the field, only to be withdrawn minutes later after another aerial duel left him with concussion.
Parsons was then given a second bookable offence with five minutes to go but Wick’s nine men held on for a deserved win.
