Sidley through to cup semis
The Blues set up a last four tie against Sussex County Football League leaders Peacehaven & Telscombe with a 2-0 win at home to Shoreham last night (Tuesday).
Jason Taylor gave Sidley a half time lead from the penalty spot and a very good second half performance was capped by a goal from Matt Darby.

Hide AdIt was the first time Sidley have kept back-to-back clean sheets all season and defender Kevin Rose hasn’t been beaten in more than two-and-a-half hours between the posts.
Elsewhere it was bad news, however, with the three other local sides in action last night all losing. Sussex Division Two outfit Little Common went down 4-0 at home to Division One high-flyers East Preston in a Sussex RUR Charity Cup quarter-final.
Despite arriving late as a result of hold-ups on the A27, EP took command with two goals during a dominant first 20 minutes and made sure of a last four clash against Peacehaven with two more strikes in quick succession just after the hour.
Rye United suffered a surprise 2-1 reverse at home to Crowborough Athletic in Sussex Division One. Rye conceded twice in the first 10 minutes of the second half and although Dominic Clarke pulled one back, it wasn’t enough.
