Ferring pulled two back very quickly but there was still time for Andy Chick to add to the Pagham scoreline and maintain their unbeaten record.
Barnham started brightly with a series of long balls out to the wings starting to push Selsey back. But they could not finish and the final ball often went out for a corner or goal-kick.
Selsey battled hard and started to take control with a series of runs on the Barnham goal. But for the efforts of the Barnham back four they could have been two up.
In the closing minutes of the half, a Selsey striker received the ball in the Barnham box, turned on a sixpence and struck a superb goal into the far corner.
