Crawley Town sign midfielder Chris Atkinson on loan from Crewe

The 6ft tall 23-year-old has been registered in time to be available for selection for Saturday’s home game against Notts County.
Manager Mark Yates said: “With Jimmy Smith out for a while we needed another option in midfield and Chris is a player who’s been on our radar for a while.

Hide AdChris is someone I have been tracking for a little while and managed to get him out initially for a month with a view to seeing where we go with it.
“He is a player I have always liked. He has scored goals against my teams in the past and really glad he is here.
“With Jimmy out we felt we needed some more energy in there and a goal threat so hopefully Chris will come in and pose that for us.”
Chris started his career with home town club Huddersfield Town.

Hide AdIn four years with the club he made 13 appearances but also went on loan to Darlington, Chesterfield, Bradford City and Tranmere to gain further experience.
He joined Crewe on a permanent basis in 2014 and has made 39 appearances for the club.
He played in both games with Reds last season, which both ended in draws, and has played 16 times this campaign.
Chris will wear squad no. 11.
