On a cold Saturday afternoon Morecambe travelled to Crawley Town to end their their game losing run and successfully secured a 1-1 draw.
Superior Crawley were looking very confident in the first half and Lanre Oyebanjo’s right footed volley nearly put them in front but was saved by the Morecambe keeper.

In the second half the Matt Harrold opened the scoring following up Lyle Della-Verde’s blocked shot.
Morecambe eventually fought back but Crawley defended well.

During the game, even though the match attendance was low at 1,697, the Crawley fans were vocal throughout.

Hide AdAfter the tense game I managed to talk to Crawley Town’s goal scorer Matt Harrold, to find out what he thought of the match. “Scoring is always is a really good feeling but we as a team were unfortunate to draw the game.”
I also met the Red Devils number 16 Jon Ashton who put in a very impressive defensive performance in today’s game.
“I thought I played quite well today, however, me and all my teammates are very disappointed we couldn’t hang on and get the three points.”
Crawley Town and Morecambe remained in 16th and 18th respectively in the League 2 table.
