Rishi Nankani, Allan Tait and Steve Sargent’s all had chances but could force the keeper to make a save.
Ten minutes before half-time Horsham hit the woodwork when Billy Joe King’s corner struck the near post. The visitors were now well on top with Gary Charman and the industrious former Anvil Ross Morley running midfield.
Down went close when a back pass to visiting keeper Mark Zawadski was mishit and after a scramble for the ball rolled inches wide of the post.

It was grim viewing for Crawley Down’s fans as not one shot was fired in the whole of the half.
The Hornets scored their second when Jamie Hills conceded a penalty and then saw Cade drive the ball home past Badiali to give the enthusiastic Horsham support plenty to celebrate.
