BREAKING: Crawley Town sale contracts exchanged

Progress of the sale to the Turkish steel magnate has been slowed by both parties awaiting Football League approval and the completion of the owners and directors’ test for the past month - which is stil ongoing.
But the sale has moved a step closer with today’s news that contracts have been swapped.

Hide AdA club statement said: “The club can confirm that its solicitors have today exchanged contracts on the sale of Crawley Town FC with the solicitors acting for Turkish investor Mr. Ziya Eren.
“We now await formal approval from the Football League for the change of ownership.
“Once it has been received, a board meeting will be convened to finalise the legal documentation on the change of ownership and complete the sale.”
The club was put up for sale in 2013 to help take the club further forward and talks with the new consortium started towards the end of last year.

Hide AdEren - who is the president of Turkish first division side Kayseri Erciyesspor - was at Crawley’s 1-1 home draw with Plymouth Argyle last month.
