Bexhill cup win “a bit special”
Tuesday night’s remarkable 4-3 win over Sidley United in the Hastings & District FA Senior Cup final was the club’s first piece of silverware since the amalgamation of the old Bexhill Town and Athletic clubs in summer 2002.
United did do the Sussex County Football League Division Three Challenge Cup and Sussex Intermediate Cup double in the 2007/08 campaign under Paul Tuppenney, but that was at intermediate level.

Hide AdBexhill manager Parris said: “I think it was a bit special to be fair. I was made up for the lads really and the supporters. That was just as much for Steve Parsons and Steve Mote as it was anyone else at the club.
“At the beginning of the season no-one ever mentioned to us (Parris and then fellow joint manager Jamie Podmore) winning silverware so that was a bonus last night.
“It’s taken five months of the season, but the last two-and-a-half months everyone’s been quality. It’s a good bunch of lads and everyone’s come together. I just think the club’s on the way up and hopefully it will continue.”
