Steyning resist a Henfield fightback to scrape victory
At one point visiting Henfield were 48-8 after a deadly spell from the host’s opening bowlers Don Ramesh Subsinge (4-47) and Owain Jones (5-64). But Henfield’s overseas all-rounder Brighton Mugochi, batting at six came in and whacked 80 off 62 balls, including eight fours and four sixes. With good support from Ben Helps (37) it pushed Henfield to 177 all out and something to defend.
In reply Steyning’s opening pair Matt Sewell (26) and Jones (20) put on 47 for the first wicket. Before long though they were down to 83-5 and the games was very much in the balance as Graham Fuller (4-25) and Mugochi (2-35) tied them down in the middle.

With plenty of overs in hand Subasinge (18) and Croshaw (ten) showed the focus needed to get the hosts over the winning line. Kennett said: “We were brilliant bowling for 18 overs and then terrible for the next nine. It should have been all over by 4pm but Henfield fought back, bowled well and gave us a game. It was a tight finish, we scraped over.”
