Now celebrating its 25th year, there will be a few taking part who lined up in February 1992 for the first-ever race.
In the early years the event was for seniors only – junior races were added in 1996.

The first race night of the 2016 series is tomorrow (Weds Feb 24) with others following on March 9 and March 23. The action begins at 6.30pm by the Assembly Rooms in North Street, and spectators are welcome.
In the seniors’ event, past corporate champions DSTL Portsdown West have once again entered a strong squad, as have IBM, who have supported the event each year since its inception.
As yet, none of the elite entries looks capable of challenging either the men’s or women’s course records set by internationals Mike East and Zara Hyde Peters respectively.
