Murder, Mayhem and Matrimony: spirituals, folk songs, Sting, Cole Porter, Lennon and McCartney are amongst the veritable assortment of musical mayhem performed by Brockham Choral tomorrow (Saturday). The Surrey based choir directed by Andrew Phillips will be providing light summer entertainment at 7.30pm in St Thomas’ Church for all to enjoy. Tickets can be bought by contacting 07799771961 at £10 each or £12 on the door and this includes a drink on arrival. The concert is in aid of the Rye charity Activities, Respite, Rehabilitation, Care Centre (ARRCC).
Brockham Choral: This Sunday July 26th the choir Brockham Choral will be leading the singing of the choral Eucharist at the 10.30am Communion service in St Thomas’ Church. In the afternoon the baptism of Rafferty Rutledge will take place from 1pm with the Rector Robin Whitehead conducting the service

Hide AdLime Cross: The Garden Society has planned a local excursion to Lime Cross Nursery near Herstmonceux on Wednesday August 19th for members and friends. One of the owners will provide a conducted tour of the nursery which specialises in the production of conifers, trees and shrubs, as well as visiting the beautiful woodland and lakes of their very own grown and planted Pinetum which opens for the NGS (National Gardens Scheme). There will be no charge for the tour and afterwards refreshments will be on sale in the new café/bistro which also provides wholesome home-made, home-grown food. Your own cars will need to be used and all are to meet there at 3pm. If you wish to come there is a limit of 20 on this outing and you should let Howard Norton know in good time as he will be co-ordinating the transport.

Sing up Sunday: St Richard’s Church is hosting the next music making afternoon which is an enjoyable way of developing your singing voice to a miscellany of songs. If you would like to participate in the hour of singing, with refreshments to follow, please meet at 4.30pm on Sunday July 26th and the cost is £2 p.p. It is hoped that after a few more practise sessions Sing Up members will be ready to perform on X Factor but in the meantime just have fun!
Play Bingo: Every other Wednesday evening there is an opportunity to play Cash Bingo in the Community Hall. The next session is on July 29th at 7.15pm and will include refreshments, raffle and is open to all but players must be over 16 years of age.
Table Sale: Coming soon on Saturday August 1st is the summer Table Sale in the Community Hall at 11am. Please ring 01797 224820 to book a table or come along and purchase the bargains. There will also be a good tombola or ‘tombolare’ in Italian meaning ‘turn a somersault’ and entrance cost is 40p which includes tea and biscuits.
