He was the special guest of businessmen who gathered in the Indigo Restaurant, at the Ardington Hotel, to raise money for Guild Care.
The annual gathering always supports the Worthing-based charity but this year was specifically focused on its dementia services.

Hide AdGuild Care provides complex and specialised care to individuals living with dementia, as well as providing support services for family members.
Organisers Peter Kennard, of H.D.Tribe Ltd, and Derek Steel, of Jacobs Steel estate agents, have both been associated with Guild Care for many years and are delighted to continue their support.
“We are very lucky that the luncheon is so well supported with familiar faces from the business community coming year after year,” said Derek.
“We also organise a golf day, June 10, this year and a Not the New Year’s Eve Ball.”

Hide AdGlenn was this year’s guest of honour. He talked about his playing career for Tottenham Hotspur and England, which included the infamous ‘Hand of God’ game against Argentina in 1986. Twelve years after that, he was the England manager when Argentina were once again their World Cup opponents in a game best remembered for David Beckham’s red card.
The luncheon ended with an auction, the prized lot being an England 1966 World Cup shirt, signed by the nine surviving members of that winning team and kindly donated by Ken Howard.
This item went for £1,000 and helped towards an estimated total of around £6,000.
Peter said: “Thanks to everyone for their generosity, raising these sort of sums would not be without them.”
