Police received a report a child had been hit by a red Skoda Octavia in Hughenden Road shortly after 8pm. It appears the local boy stepped out from behind a truck and into the path of the Skoda. He was taken to Conquest Hospital in Hastings with a minor leg injury. The driver of the Skoda stopped briefly, but then left the scene before exchanging details. Police would like to speak to him in connection with the incident. Anyone with any information is asked to contact collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call 101, quoting serial 1496 of August 23.
