Aran Macdermott started the petition on Wednesday (March 9), after it was announced the University of Brighton Hastings campus will be closing in two years.
Now 6,571 people have signed the petition.
“I am a local resident of Hastings and have seen the huge positive effect the University has had for students, local people and how other people view our town,” Aran wrote on the petition.
