Tesco Mum of the Year meeting David Cameron today
As a result of her Tesco Mum of the Year Award Jane, 55, will be a guest of David Cameron today (6 March) in the run up to International Women’s Day, which takes place on Saturday.
International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the economic, political and social achievements of women past, present and future. Observed since the early 1900s thousands of events are held throughout the world to inspire women and celebrate achievements.

Hide AdJane has been chosen as one of only 150 women from the whole country, singled out for her tireless campaigning to improve medical practice around Group B Strep Infection.
In l996 Jane founded the Group B Strep Support charity just four months after her son died from the infection.
She has worked for over seventeen years with health professionals and parents to provide support and information also campaigning for the provision of testing to identify which babies will develop Group Strep B infection so that mothers can be treated.
Speaking of her latest recognition Jane said: “I am delighted to be invited to this special event and be in the same room as some incredible women – and the Prime Minister of course! Our work continues to raise awareness of this infection and to prevent infant deaths in this country.”
