Speed limit to be lowered on Rye road
Safety improvement work is to get underway on Monday on the road between 136 Winchelsea Road to just north of Martello Close.
The stretch of road saw the death of a 19 year old man last year when he was hit by a car while walking out into the road in the dark.

It is planned to carry out the works on Monday March and Tuesday between 9.30am and 4pm and or between 8pm and 6am each night.
In order for the works to be carried out, there will be single lane closures on the east and westbound carriageway, with two-way temporary traffic lights in operation.
Pedestrian footways will be closed with a diversion in place whilst the works take place.
