But a number of schools are closed as a precaution, including ones in Broad Oak, Crowbrough, Rotherfield, Mayfield, Heathfield, Chailey, Stone Gate, Jarvis Brook, Mark Cross, Frant and Hadlow Down.
There were overall delays of about 15 minutes on Southern trains, although there were 25 minute delays on the Uckfield to Oxted service.

There were slight delays on Brighton and Hove Bus services.
One bus broke down at Crowborough and passengers had to be transferred to a replacement bus.
Frant Hill was briefly closed after a lorry became stuck.
Traffic had problems negotiating Argos Hill on the A267 due to slippery conditions. The Ditchling Beacon road was closed. Snow ploughs were out in Crowborough, Heathfield and Frant.
A driver was injured and treated by Burwash and Heathfield firefighters following a road accident between Burwash and Burwash Common at 8.45am.

Hide Ad5.40am - A26 Tunbridge Wells to Crowborough road: a petrol tanker was stuck on the road and unable to move due to sliding. The road was blocked.
Police also discovered a van that had come off the road and gone into the ditch close to this location.
There were no injuries at either incident and recovery was arranged and the road was cleared causing very little disruption
5.50am - A267 between Mayfield and Mark Cross: The driver of an articulated lorry reported that he could not get his lorry up the hill due to it sliding. The road was not blocked although it did cause a hazard to other road users. Police were not required to attend as the lorry driver managed to move the lorry with no further disruption

Hide Ad6.20am - A26 Herons Ghyll: A lorry jacknifed causing the road to be partially blocked. Cars could pass with caution. The owner of the lorry arranged its recovery and upon police arrival the situation had been resolved and the road was clear.
