Rye Poppy Appeal raises £10,000 to help those in need

Organiser Elizabeth Kimber said: “Some of this money will go directly to benefit local former servicemen and women and their families.
“Although many see this money going to veterans of the Two World Wars, today there are numerous beneficiaries from recent campaigns such as Northern Ireland, the Balkans, Iraq and Afghanistan. Contributions support the British Legion in its work helping with advice, lobbying, health care, housing and homelessness.

Hide AdOur fundraising volunteers included members of the Rye British Legion and individuals from local communities of Rye, Camber, Northiam Playden and Iden.
“Street collectors, businesses, counters, deliverers and anonymous supporters made an effective team. Thanks all those who gave so generously. Your poppy will ensure those who gave their lives for our country will be remembered.”
