Rustington elects a new council chairman
During the council’s Annual Meeting, councillor Graham Tyler was elected as the chairman for this coming civic year.
However, Cllr Tyler is no stranger to the post, having held the position for three years from 2004 to 2007.

Hide AdCouncillor Alison Bryden Cooper was also elected to become the council’s vice-chairman.
On being elected, Cllr Tyler said: “It is a great honour to, once again, represent the community of Rustington, which is a fantastic village to be a part of, as chairman, with a most progressive parish council.”
Cllr Tyler joined the parish council in 1996, and currently represents Rustington as a county councillor and district councillor.
He is married to Diane who manages The Garden Café, in The Street, Rustington. They have three daughters and four grandchildren, and have lived in Rustington for 34 years.
Cllr Bryden Cooper joined the council in May 2013.

Hide AdShe has lived in Rustington for over 40 years and is married to Andy, the previous chairman of the parish council and current Arun District Council representative for Angmering.
They have three children who have all gone to local schools.
Alison has owned and run various retail businesses in the village.
Speaking of her election, she said: “I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to represent the council and the community of Rustington, as its vice-chairman for the forthcoming year.
“I would like to thank my fellow councillors for electing me to this position.”
