RAIL STRIKE: Sussex commuters face major problems during industrial action
Southern Railway say this will have a significant effect on Southern services on the whole of the days affected, with no service on many routes and only a limited service between approximately 7.30am and 6pm on others.
A statement on the Southern websites says: “Queuing systems will be in place at many stations that are open so you may have a long wait before you are able to board a train. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee to get you to your destination.

Hide Ad“Gatwick Express and Thameslink services will be largely unaffected by the strike but some services are expected to be extremely busy on these days and some trains will be unable to call at certain stations, so please allow more time for your journey.”

No Southern trains will operate in either direction on the following routes:
Clapham Junction to Milton Keynes via Kensington Olympia
Dorking to Horsham
Oxted to Uckfield
Haywards Heath to Lewes
Preston Park to Hove
Lewes to Seaford
Eastbourne to Ashford International via Hastings (Southeastern services will operate between St Leonards Warrior Square and Hastings as normal)

Hide AdChichester to Portsmouth Harbour and Southampton Central (South West Trains and Great Western Railway services will operate between Havant and Portsmouth Harbour/Southampton Central as normal)
Redhill to Tonbridge
Redhill to Reigate (Great Western Railway services will operate on this route as normal)
Earlswood, Salfords and Faygate stations will not be served
A limited service will operate in both direction between approximately 7.30am and 6.30pm on the following routes:
London Bridge - Norwood Junction - East Croydon - Sanderstead - Riddlesdown - Upper Warlingham - Woldingham - Oxted - Hurst Green - Lingfield - Dormans - East Grinstead
