HDC RESULT: Lib Dems lose Broadbridge Heath ward to Tories
The Lib Dems have lost the Broadbridge Heath ward at the Horsham District Council elections to the Conservatives.
Malcolm Curnock, who was first elected in 2011, lost out to Tory Matthew French.
Mr French said: “Obviously I’m delighted the people of Broadbridge Heath have put their faith in me. I would like to thank all my opponents particularly Malcolm Curnock who is very well respected in the area and I will definitely be working alongside him and the parish council in the future. As a councillor it’s an important role to see that the district and parish work together for the community.”
Mr French polled 784 votes compared to 672 for Mr Curnock, 304 for UKIP’s Uri Baran, and 180 for the Green Party’s Shuan Longhurst.
