Best friends Tarran Sanders, 26, from Worthing and Molly Fisher, 24, from Newton Abbott in Devon will be travelling around 1,000 miles from John O’Groats in Scotland to Land’s End in Cornwall in a tuk-tuk.
They will have to avoid motorways, as the vehicle can go no faster than 40mph, and it is expected to take two weeks.

Hide AdTarran, who works as activities co-ordinator at St Mary’s Care Home, in Westbrooke, Worthing, said: “Molly and I have been preparing the trip for the past 12 months, as we want to do something exciting, because we all know excitement has been lacking recently, while also doing something good for all those suffering the worst since the pandemic hit.
“It’s been a tough year for everyone but some have lost everything. We can think of lots of reasons why we choose to support Mind but we’re sure you’ll agree the most important is because nobody should face a mental health problem alone.
“Given a personal connection to lost loved ones over the past two years, this charity also resonates on a personal level for Molly and myself.”
The friends have already sourced a tuk-tuk and set a date of June 1 to start the journey. Anyone who donates will have the opportunity to set a challenge to be completed during the trip.

Hide AdTarran said: “We shall pick one challenge to complete each day of our adventure.
“With this support, we can give people a way forward, help them to understand their options and get support and know that they’re not alone. Supporters will also be helping us to fund better services and support, so people experiencing a mental health problem get the help they need, when they need it.”
