Matt Gittings, who owns Arun Vetinary Group with his wife Sarah, uploaded two videos to Facebook to let his customers know about the surgery’s current thinking, strategies and contingencies.
He said he thought chatting on Facebook live would be a ‘nice way’ to keep in touch.

Hide AdArun Vetinary Group has practices in Pulborough, Ashington, Storrington, Westergate and Worthing.
Matt said the Royal College of Vetinary Surgeons and the British Vetinary Association had advised the surgery to restrict its services to urgent or emergency work only.
Vaccinations have been stopped but he said he can give advice for owners of new puppies and kittens.
Neutering has also been stopped.
He added: “We are allowed to prescribe prescription only medicine on a more relaxed basis from assessing animals remotely.”

Hide AdThe surgery will deliver a triage style service according to Matt.
He said telephone and video consultations will be available, but their cost had been discounted as a goodwill gesture.
There are strict hygiene guidelines in place for anyone who is asked to visit the surgery according to Matt.
He added that there is ‘absolutely no evidence’ of animals spreading coronavirus but said anyone ill with Covid-19 should limit contact with pets in the household until more is known about the virus.

Hide AdMatt said the group’s ventilator is listed on the NHS system and it may be taken to help the fight against coronavirus.
