Film producer found dead in Saltdean home

Malik Ford was described as having the ‘most fun and energetic personality’ and being someone who ‘emanated genuine humanity and love’ at an inquest on Thursday (July 30).
His body was found at his home in Bannings Vale, Saltdean, on February 4 this year.

Hide AdIn a statement, Malik’s partner Rose Kirk said he was intelligent and passionate, but was a self-confessed ‘tortured soul’.
She said, “He had the most fun and mesmerising personality, he emanated genuine humanity and love.”
Malik, 48, had struggled since a previous break-up with the mother of his five-year-old son, the inquest at Eastbourne Town Hall heard.
However, it also heard he was beginning to turn his life around after serving two prison sentences.

Hide AdA writer and filmmaker, Malik had just signed up to project with the production company which had made Three Identical Strangers.
Sussex Police investigation supervisor Paul Sellings said there had been no evidence of third party involvement in his death.
A post mortem found his cause of death was hanging.
Assistant coroner James Healy-Pratt concluded Mr Ford had taken his own life. He expressed his sympathies to the family.
