Burwash man named as victim of light aircraft crash
Richard Warriner, 65, died when the aircraft he was flying crashed near Heathfield, on Tuesday (August 4).
His body was recovered from the wreckage of his plane after it came down in open ground off Herrings Lane just after 11am.

Hide AdPolice said the crash is being investigated by the Air Accident Investigation Branch (AAIB).
Emergency services were called to the crash scene at 11am where the aircraft had caught fire after crashing.
Firefighters from Heathfield, Uckfield, Battle & Wadhurst attended, along with police and the ambulance service.
Upon arrival, crews found one small aircraft had crashed into a field.

Hide AdOn Tuesday, a Sussex Police spokesman said: “Unfortunately, the pilot is believed to have died instantly. His next-of-kin have been advised.
“The matter has now been passed to the Air Accident Investigation Branch (AAIB) for investigation.”
East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service and SECAmb confirmed they were also called to attend the incident.
