Pedestrian, 71, ‘seriously injured’ in Crawley crash

The 71-year-old pedestrian was hurt when he was in collision with a car that had left the road in Crawley on Monday afternoon (August 10), Sussex Police said.
A spokesman added: “It is believed that the driver of the Volkswagen Passat may have suffered a medical episode before the incident in Broadfield Drive at 4.34pm and another motorist had stopped to assist. He was also injured when the vehicle moved again as he was trying to help.”

Hide AdBoth the driver of the Passat, who suffered minor injuries and the assisting motorist who suffered serious injuries were taken to the East Surrey Hospital in Redhill, said police. The pedestrian was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton, also with serious injuries.
A spokesman added: “Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to report online or call 101 quoting Operation Dunmere.”
