Command of the language is a key element to help children get on in life – not only with their careers, but also with their social lives and developing self confidence.
For this reason West Worthing Rotary Club presents sets of the stunning Usborne illustrated dictionaries to local middle schools each year.

The Usborne illustrated dictionaries bring words to life.
Children can not only find out what an object is, but also what it looks like and how it works.
It is so much fun and makes learning into a pleasure.
It is hoped that the illustrations alongside written descriptions of the words will make learning interesting for the children.
This year West Worthing Rotarians Sue Virgo and Marion Milton made the presentations to Ferring Church of England Primary School, Clapham and Patching Church of England Primary School and the English Martyrs Catholic School.

Immediate Rotary past-president Sue Virgo said: “I think the dictionaries will enrich their lessons and enable them to appreciate the beauty of the English language and the world around them.”
