Little has changed
The build-up came, managers standing in the entrance telling
us how 250 men would be working flat out for a week to give us an improved store.

Hide AdI was told by one of the managers it was badly in need of updating as it had not been touched for years. I was very much looking forward to it.
But alas, when I went back in after the ‘revamp’, I was sorely disappointed.
There was no real effort to improve. All we got was a smaller coffee shop and more shelves squeezed into the space. They had just moved things around to fit in more goods.
No thought for us, the customers. We still trudge around on the same old flooring, look up at the same old ceiling and have mostly the same old shelving.

Hide AdIt did not feel like an improved store. I felt they had just tickled the problem when they should have taken the opportunity to really make a difference.
I assumed that with Sainsbury’s coming in, Tesco was trying to improve its representation in Bognor Regis, but this was not the case – or if it was, it has failed miserably.
I can only surmise that when we do eventually get our brand-new Sainsbury’s on the other side of the road, and give Tesco a bit of competition, we might once again have a ‘revamp’ – this time with a little bit of forethought.
