It is good to see them spending considerable money to expand places available in existing schools.
However, haven’t we now gone beyond the point where expanding existing schools is the answer? Surely, as the Shoreham Beach Residents’ Association and the Shoreham Society point out in a separate article, the many new houses and growing population now demand that whole new schools be built, as well as other amenities such as doctors’ practices.

Meanwhile, Shoreham Beach School is already massively over-subscribed and many parents are forced to go to the “mainland” to find school places. Swiss Gardens, who take many of these children, has literally no more physical space - it barely has enough playground space - but have now been told they must somehow accommodate an extra class. Surely we have now reached breaking point.
If more houses are to be built and the population is to increase even further, we must have whole new amenities, including schools, along with consequent development in infrastructure, such as roads. We are past the point where expanding existing facilities is sufficient, or even possible.
