Finally, an excellent small supermarket in the very centre of our village puts Billingshurst right back on the area’s shopping map.
We know many of the staff from when they worked at Sainsbury’s predecessor before it closed some months ago, and it is astonishing to see what professional, retail training, smart uniforms, and a modern and well-lit environment can do.

I am sure that there will be teething problems, but I haven’t seen any, and I am told that the store exceeded its week’s budget in just two days. It deserves to.
Congratulations to Sainsbury’s for seeing the potential of Billingshurst and for investing in our village.
It has a rapidly growing, vibrant community with good schools, a railway station, a charming High Street, and a good range of shops all now anchored by an excellent supermarket.
