International pianist set to perform recital
His virtuoso programme includes major works by Poulenc (Toccata), Ravel (Miroirs), Chopin (2nd Piano Concerto), Debussy (Images Book 2), Samuel Barber, Rachmaninov, and Liszt. The programme also includes Islamey, by Balakirev, one of the most difficult works ever written for piano, with a ‘fearsome’ reputation among pianists.
Rudnystky has been soloist with many orchestras around the world and gave the première performances of Liszt’s third piano concerto. A prizewinner in ten national and international competitions, he has performed in over 35 countries. St Mary’s is delighted to welcome him back for his fifth visit here.
