In Bloom winners get awards
Hillier Horsham, on Brighton Road, has sponsored two categories of the Horsham in Bloom competition this year – Best Neighbourhood Garden and Best Hanging Basket or Container.
Over 20 gardens were judges in this section including Hillier Horsham’s manager, Terry Clarke. He said: “The theme was the centenary of WW1 and many residents put a huge amount of effort into it with family memorabilia, personal photographs, gas masks and even some uniform.

Hide Ad“There was a real reflection of nostalgia and history which I found very captivating.”
The panel of judges were looking for; good horticultural practice (an absence of pests and diseases, a balance of perennial and sustainable planting with no litter), good planning and maintenance, bold displays of colour, a balance in harmony with local conditions and a reference to this year’s theme.
