One of the event organisers reported that 26 visitors from the neighbouring community enjoyed the free hot food and received free bibles.
Younger members of the Plymouth Brethren Christian Churchwere enthusiastically distributing leaflets and holding placards advertising the event,on the nearbystreets.

Hide AdIt was interesting to see and hear the positive reactions of passersby which, with few exceptions, were appreciative of this outreach event.
Some, who didn’t have time to stop, still gladly received the free bibles and gospel tracts, and many identified themselves asChristians. Of those who did visit, somewere,at first, disbelieving when told that there was a free lunch available, but when they were escorted to the event, about 100 yards from Brighton Road,a main route into the town, they soon realised that it was not only true, but also deliciously appetising.
The crowning touch,of course, wasthe 28 free Bibles distributed and it was heart warming to hear of a young teenager who told a Church member, ‘I will cherish this Bible’.
