Head in the sand?
The way forward for Sussex is entirely downhill, if fundamental issues are not tackled.
According to a report in the Guardian newspaper (February 20), “Scientists and development thinkers today warn that civilisation is faced with a perfect storm of ecological and social problems driven by overpopulation, over-consumption and environmentally malign technologies.”

Hide AdPerfectly rational argument can be made for more development and higher density, for a growing population, with more roads and railways needed. Opposition to particular schemes is little but a delaying tactic.
Why is the population growing, it might be asked, and what responsibility does government take for having its head in the sand?
