Animal sacrifices, too
Whilst I think the reporter and photographer for their interest, the following should be mentioned, and I quote from a leaflet, “Remembering the animal victims of war”, by the charity, Animal Aid:
“While millions of animals have lost their lives in human wars, they are rarely mentioned in Remembrance ceremonies.

Hide AdAnimal Aid’s purple poppy has been created to rectify this. It can be worn alongside the red poppy, to commemorate the animal victims of war.” A purple poppy will be placed at the East Preston and Littlehampton war memorials.
Please let us remember them all, human heroes, then and now, and the animals who suffer the same disabilities and traumas.
Meanwhile, can we hope that human and animal sacrifice has not been in vain – peace must come.
