Exuberant admonishment from a cyclist in Meads Road
From: Rev’d Dr Peter MullenNaomi Close

I was walking along Meads Road towards town when a young gentleman on a bicycle hurtled by on the pavement and admonished me exuberantly.
As I cast in my mind what manner of salutation this might be, the cyclist stopped abruptly – in order to peer into his portable telephone – five yards in front of me, thus entirely impeding my progress.
So I had no alternative except to clear off to the other side of the road.
