Defence of Lauren Bravo
Although Lauren's comment comparing her laptop to "an 87-year-old trying to get out of a chair" may have seemed slightly offensive to someone who is actually 87 and maybe still sprightly, it was only meant as light humour and I'm sure was not intended to offend.
I do find it a shame that people take offence at the smallest things, and I think it's probably this knee-jerk reaction to be offended which has caused all this "political correctness" that we now have to adhere to.

It wasn't intended personally.
I'm sure Lauren is now kicking herself for writing something that has upset someone and would be genuinely sorry that her column has caused offence.
I would suggest, though, that anyone who finds Lauren's column something that needs to be "endured"'¦ skip it and go to the next article.
No-one will ever know.
