“As norovirus has an incubation period of 48hrs the bay will remain closed for this time and reopened, provided no other patients develop symptoms.
“A second bay on the ward was also closed to new admissions over the weekend which opened on Monday.
“In total, there had been two confirmed cases of norovirus on the ward and these patients have both now been discharged.”

“Stay at home and drink plenty of water. More importantly please DO NOT visit friends or relatives in hospital until they are free of symptoms for at least 48 hours.
“Failure to do this increases the risk of spreading the infection to patients and staff in hospital.”
