Ninfield Carnival's £6,000 charity boost
The village was packed with visitors ready to enjoy the atmosphere of the Carnival Procession followed by an afternoon of fun on the recreation ground and an evening entertainment which included a well-received tribute to Michael Jackson's Thriller.
Ninfield Carnival Committee will now present the money raised to the Alzheimer's Society, its chosen charity of the year, as well as a number of local causes.

We tried to keep our prices down because recession-wise we knew people were on a tight budget but were still wanting to enjoy themselves without having to worry about the pennies too much. So the profit from the day was not huge but it was still good for the charity - and we wanted to make money for the charity more than anything else.
"The weather was fantastic and people came out to support us, so that was brilliant. There was a lot there for people to do, from young to old, so I hope everybody had a good time, and we made that nice bit of money for the charity which is very important, as well as money for local projects."
Particular thanks went to James Parker who is chairman of the Carnival Committee and main organiser of the event as well as sponsor.
Samantha also thanked Image Contract Flooring, Pigs Do Fly for supplying the hog roast, Haffenden Roofing, Warehouse Light and Sound, F.K Carter, Saunders Meats, French's Skip Hire, and Crystals.
