New primary school and 600 homes planned in Pease Pottage
St Catherine’s Hospice, which wants to build new premises on the land, has been working with developer Thakeham.
Thakeham spokesman Nikki Davies said the proposed one form primary school’s capacity would cater for the new homes and surrounding area.

Hide AdShe said a secondary school was not necessary for 600 home developments. The 30 per cent proportion of affordable housing was what the district council’s policy stated was needed. The proportion of how many of those will be shared equity and affordable rent was to be discussed with the council. The proportion was generally 30 per cent shared equity, where a share of the home is paid for and the rest rented, and 70 per cent affordable rent, a property rented at up to 80 per cent of private housing rates.
